In New Orleans I am content to
have beignets and gumbo every day...
but there are lots of Nawlins specialities
that deserve some consideration...
such as the muffuletta
a uniquely New Orleans sandwich
originally created in 1906 at the Central Grocery
very similar to an Italian sub..
ham,salami and cheese on a crusty roll...
with the essential topping being Olive salad..
that must be an acquired taste ...
I actually prefer to remove the topping...
the current price range for a muffuletta
is $14 - 25.....
and one will definitely feed two people.
