the Cherokee Bear Trail,
Cherokee, NC
project began in 2005
showcasing a series of
life-like fiberglass bears
painted in bright colors
by Native American artists.
each bear promotes a theme
related to the Cherokee's heritage.
currently 17 of the proposed 25
bears are on display throughout the
main business area and around town.
until recently there were 19 , but a
tour bus ran over two of the statues.
