Old Madison County Jail
Madison, Florida
built in 1888
in the 50's a new jail had been built
and the old jail was converted to a
public Library....
In the 60's
A nice detour for me while riding my
bike home from school every afternoon.
Even today the bars remain intact.
A newer library opened before I
left for college. The old jail remained
empty for several years before being
used by the city .
The latest occupant ... the Salvation Army.
