Not sure who was more startled..
me to find bison on the trail or
bison to see me walking the trail.
Usually I just see evidence that they
have been on the trail.
I didn't get too close.
There are stories about bison chasing people.
On the trail the only option is to jump in the canal..
and that really is not an option, since the gators are
out en-masse enjoying the springtime weather.
But he does look harmless .. doesn't he ??
No problem .. after ten minutes the novelty
of my presence was gone and so were the bison.
Only the second time in two years that I have
seen them up close .
