Micanopy is a sleepy little spot a few miles southof the prairie ( where I do a lot of my gator watching ).
Over the years it has been the location for a few movies.
Most notably the sets for Doc Hollywood and Cross Creek.
But before Hollywood came calling, Micanopy was home to
some remarkable antique and art 'emporiums'. Sadly most
of the original art studios have closed shop and moved on.
The fall craft festival still draws a huge crowd and at least for
that weekend it is once again vibrant and bustling ...............
But that is not the way it is this time of year.It is the perfect spot to wander around and
be a shutterbug ... no obstacles.. no bodies to
interrupt a train of thought or a camera angle.
Just deserted sidewalks....
Plenty of parking spaces.....
Lots of old oaks and spanish moss.....
