More of old Florida ....

Long before the Mouse invaded central Florida...
Alachua was a booming railroad town in north Florida
Now it is mostly a farming community and a prime
real estate market for those preferring to live in the
burbs of Gator-ville .. .a 7 minute commute on the
I-75 or a leisurely 15 minute drive down Hwy 441 .

City center is lined with old houses that now serve
as businesses.. this is one of my favorite .. of course
now it serves as a computer shop.

The Meyer House .. circa 1898 .. located on main street
is still a private residence and one of several
restored and maintained homes in the area.

The Alachua version of the original Ivy House
restaurant located in Williston Florida.
Southern hospitality and ambience in another
restored house at the end of main street.
