from the Florida heat and humidity,

The 57 horses painted by area artists

were on display for several months.

Then sold in an auction for charity

that raised over a million dollars.

About 20 of the horses remain

in the community.

The weather is looking better and better.
Hot .. a given.
But the ocean breeze makes it seem less.

My weekend started at 6 am.
Out and about by 9.
Noon it was time to seek
a cool space ....

Away from home, this is
my favorite place to chill.

It is sort of like Cheers ....
you know the place...
Where everybody knows your name.
And more importantly the barista
knows your drink........

On La Chua Trail

Besides seeing a few gators on the banks,

the Red-Winged Blackbirds seem to

be everywhere.

Only the males exhibit the red

and yellow shoulder markings.

Therapy .. gator style

Times when I have had a really bad day
and can not indulge in retail therapy,
this is the best alternative.......

Afterwards I can use the cookie crumbs for
a cheesecake crust.

Back to work for me.

At the Lake ..

The first time I have seen a boat on Lake Alice.

Airboat rides for a group of
wannabe journalism students.

Somehow this rated as a journalism
course field trip.

This guy was hoping it was the main course.

Rain delayed ...

Rain and more rain in the forecast.
So house or retail therapy
will replace my plans
for trekking around campus.

oh.. the flowers...no reason for these.
Sometimes Bob just gives me flowers.
He is just like that..
a silly card, a bookmark,
a note left on my desk ... just Bob.

Jab, jab, jabbing

The box arrived with yesterday's mail.
On my way to work, so I had to leave it
for this morning.

Maybe Bossy Betty and I graduated
from the same school of tape .

You can not have too much tape on a
USPS package.

Finally managed to get through all that tape...

... and here it is.......
my very own deco jabber.

I think I will keep this in my car and use
it for all those road rage moments when
I want to zap someone.... a jab will do.
